About Angela

Angela describes herself as a professional student.  In addition to several different majors over the years, mainly in the communications and science divisions, she has thus far completed half of the TCM Masters degree program at Five Branches.  She has also been a Holistic Lic. Esthetician for the past 8 years specializing in acupressure facials.  She's excited to continue her work in this area as well as Tao Te bodywork, nutrition, and essential oils.

Angela's Experience with Tao Te

"Let me fall
Let me climb
There's a moment when fear and dreams must collide.
Someone I am is waiting for courage.
The one I want
The one I will become will catch me.
So let me fall
If I must fall.
I won't heed your warnings
I won't hear them.
All I ask
All I need
Let me open whichever door I might open.
Let me fall
If I fall
Though the phoenix may or may not rise.
I will dance so freely
Holding on to no one.
You can hold me only if you too will fall
Away from all these useless fears and chains"

I have felt somewhat like a robot most of my life - numb and mechanical.  I remember that I used to display emotions but never actually felt them.  It was an incredibly empty and lonely feeling. I felt trapped in a dead body. And despite of all the numbness - I still felt a lot of emotional pain.

I am so grateful to have discovered this amazing work.  It has changed my life in so many profound ways.  One of the amazing changes that has occurred is, that after 20 years (the last 2/3 of my life) of being asleep/numb/depressed, I'm finally starting to wake up!

I have learned through this process that truly waking up can be rough. It can be quite difficult for some.  Some of us find that facing our own stuff can be challenging.  This work has really brought up a lot of stuff for me as it has helped me to take a deeper look at myself.  I am so grateful since I am now feeling more peaceful and happy as  negative clutter that no longer serves me is released.

The words “wake up” seem so empty compared to the actual experience of it.   I feel like talking about it some how belittles the experience because no matter what I write, it still won’t really capture the true essence, power and overwhelming joy that I have experienced. And although the words are so very lacking… these are some of the words that I would use to describe my transformation with Tao Te Bodywork:

increased sense of awareness
less uptight
happier
more self-confidence
like myself a lot more
less fear
feel more comfortable in my body
feel more present
feel more appreciation for life
feel more grounded
have had a lot more insight into why I do what I do,...
easier to be around
able to establish boundaries better
feel more peaceful
more empowered

more in touch with my body

I feel honored to be included in this class, and to be able to be a catalyst in people's lives for self-improvement, self-acceptance, self empowerment…
